Alvaro Morata seeking Chelsea exit as agent holds talks with Sevilla. Sevilla have held talks with Alvaro Morata’s agent to discuss a potential move for the Chelsea striker, according to reports in Spain.

Morata is reportedly unhappy at Stamford Bridge and chose not to celebrate either of his goals in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Maurizio Sarri is keen to sign a new striker in the January transfer window and wants Gonzalo Higuain to make the move to Stamford Bridge in a deal that would see Morata join AC Milan on loan.

But Morata is keen to return to La Liga and AS report that Sevilla have made a move to sign the striker.

The report claims that on Monday, the Spanish club’s director of football Joaquin Caparros met with Morata’s agent Juanma Lopez to discuss a potential deal.

Sevilla want to sign Morata on loan for the rest of the season and are prepared to pay more than half of the striker’s £150,000-a-week salary.

Chelsea, however, will not allow Morata to leave until a replacement is signed.

Morata is also understood to be unhappy with the public criticism he received from Gianfranco Zola last week.

‘It should be a motivational thing,’ Zola said before Chelsea’s win over Nottingham Forest. ‘You are at Chelsea, you are not playing for Southampton or Brighton with all due respect to those clubs.

‘People expect a lot from the number nine at Chelsea. They expect a lot of goals and good performances. This is normal, he has to get used to it.

‘If he goes to another big club it’ll be the same – there is no way you can avoid your responsibilities.

‘It’s part of your job and if you can handle that then the better you’re going to be.’
